While most of the time it makes sense to keep your iPhone screen facing portrait, there are times when you need to switch it back to landscape view.
Whether you’re watching Netflix, viewing high-resolution photos, or playing games, it’s not always best to use the standard iPhone screen format.
Fortunately, rotating the screen is a quick process that only takes a few seconds. Here’s everything you need to know.
Apps Not Working In Landscape Orientation On Ios 16 (fix)
Open an app that supports landscape view, such as YouTube or Netflix. Instead of holding your phone in the usual portrait orientation, turn it on its side. The content on your screen should now return to landscape mode.
If your screen does not rotate, you may have orientation lock. Here’s how to lock or unlock this feature:
1. To turn off screen rotation lock, unlock your iPhone to go to the Home screen and swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open Control Center.
2. Look for the icon that shows a small lock with a curved arrow. If the screen rotation lock is enabled, it will be highlighted. Tap to uncheck it, which will disable the screen rotation lock and allow your screen to rotate freely.

3. When finished, tap any empty space on the screen (empty of buttons) to return to the home screen. Now when you physically flip your phone to landscape mode, your screen should follow suit.

Quick tip: You can lock your iPhone screen to a certain angle so that it doesn’t change even if you move the phone in your hand. Rotate the device to the desired orientation, then enable Orientation Lock by tapping the screen rotation lock icon in Control Center.
It should be noted that while iOS and some apps like Netflix and YouTube support screen rotation, not all apps do.

If you have confirmed that the screen rotation lock is disabled on your phone, it is likely that the app in question does not allow you to change the screen orientation.
If you’re sure the app supports screen rotation but it’s not working on your iPhone, you have a few options to try to fix the problem.
2. Reboot your device. Sometimes technology can be very complex, and a simple restart gives the phone a chance to fix things. There is no order or reason why it does this, but it often does.
